Haberfeld came to follow some Formula 1 tire tests on the now-defunct Jacarepaguá circuit, close to Nelson Piquet. Before arriving at the Formula Indy, Mario Haberfeld disputed four seasons by Formula 3000, between 1999 and 2002. He joined Formula Indy in 2003 for the Conquest team and finished the season in 12th place. The following year, Walker finished the season in 13th place. He makes the "aerial bridge" from Miami (where he resides) to Mato Grosso do Sul, to take care of the Onçafari Project, which aims to preserve the jaguar through an awareness campaign with farmers in the region, as well as the habituation of the animal, valuing ecotourism
